Down Comforters

These lovely ladies wear flowered frocks inspired by William Morris wallpaper and fabric. It measures 31″ x 38″. I finished drawing it early on. Then decisiions had to be made as to how to dress them. I don’t know if this totally works, but I’ve grown to like the girls. I’m still working on finishing .

In the meantime…

My hands and fingers are screaming. When I cannot hook anymore, I fall back on quilting. I have about a dozen quilted that need binding stitched on. Attached is one of my favorites. It’s such a cheery quilt depicting children with sandpails on the beach. Very sunny. Hand stitching must use different muscles from hooking muscles. And it’s very relaxing and mindless. Good for a 2-hour movie.

Sunday, Sunday

Ok, so here is the unveiling of my latest rug finished a few weeks ago. I see many flaws in it. Would love feedback. I want to start over but it is so difficult for me to think of doing it all over again when I want to start one of the numerous ideas I have swimming around in my head. This one is “Catnip” and it’s 27″ x 27″. Help!

It seems I am really into Rabbits these days. I’ve keep wanting to experiment with backgrounds that nearly consume the main image. I thought this was a perfect subject matter to work with this idea. It was truly a struggle and I think still needs tweaking. After thousands (it seems) of rip outs and re-starts, this is finally a finished product. Highway I94 melts! They’re calling it “pavement failure.” Yes, indeed!
Today I’m working on finishing a new rug with another rabbit. This is a smaller one using greens and gorgeous wine colors. Hoping to finish tomorrow so I can begin another new one!
